Gigster Promotions

I have always loved music and going to gigs, and photography and live music really do make the perfect combination when I get to shoot shows and see some of my favourite bands. Over the last few years I've gone from shooting tiny local shows in Birmingham to photographing some massive bands at Sonisphere & Leeds festival and even Linkin Park at the O2 Arena. Sometimes it's nice to go back to those smaller venues, and while the lighting for the most part can be pretty tricky to shoot in, it's nice to see some different bands and different music.

Gigster Promotions asked me to shoot the launch of a new music event at O'Neils on Broad Street in Birmingham. Here's just a few shots from the evening...

Frock On Vintage - On location

A few weeks ago I headed back home to Birmingham for a few days to see the family, and of course I couldn't help squeezing in a photoshoot! Literally as soon as I got into the car to head over to Digbeth it started to rain, and it pretty much rained for the whole of the shoot. I didn't want to risk getting any of my lights out so only used natural light - something I don't often do.

Pam of Frock On Vintage had some quite specific ideas of what she wanted so these shots are slightly different to what I normally shoot. If you like any of the pieces check out Frock On Vintage here.

Thanks to our lovely model Sabrina Checker!
