Gigster Promotions

I have always loved music and going to gigs, and photography and live music really do make the perfect combination when I get to shoot shows and see some of my favourite bands. Over the last few years I've gone from shooting tiny local shows in Birmingham to photographing some massive bands at Sonisphere & Leeds festival and even Linkin Park at the O2 Arena. Sometimes it's nice to go back to those smaller venues, and while the lighting for the most part can be pretty tricky to shoot in, it's nice to see some different bands and different music.

Gigster Promotions asked me to shoot the launch of a new music event at O'Neils on Broad Street in Birmingham. Here's just a few shots from the evening...

Frock On Vintage - On location

A few weeks ago I headed back home to Birmingham for a few days to see the family, and of course I couldn't help squeezing in a photoshoot! Literally as soon as I got into the car to head over to Digbeth it started to rain, and it pretty much rained for the whole of the shoot. I didn't want to risk getting any of my lights out so only used natural light - something I don't often do.

Pam of Frock On Vintage had some quite specific ideas of what she wanted so these shots are slightly different to what I normally shoot. If you like any of the pieces check out Frock On Vintage here.

Thanks to our lovely model Sabrina Checker!

Saal Digital Photobook

I recently got a Photobook printed by Saal Digital and while I've only ever had a few printed myself, I can quite easily say that this is the best quality of Photobook I've ever had printed, and I'd definitely recommend them if you're looking to get your own booked printed. Everyone who has seen the book has also commented on how good the print quality is!

I decided to print a selection of my favourite live music work and tried out a few different style page layouts. Here's a peak at some of the pages...

Darkus Magazine & Slam Dunk North

You may remember back in April I shot Hit The Deck Festival for Darkus magazine, and last month I also shot Slam Dunk Leeds for them. I've held back a few of the photos until the issue is released, but it is now on sale and you can purchase a print copy for £3 or a digital copy for just £1.50 here.

Here are a few sneaky previews from inside the mag! I always love seeing my images printed, as I'm sure anyone does, but it's always exciting for me to see how a designer chooses to use them within a layout. I love how these look!

Here's a few shots from Slam Dunk North, it was an extremely sunny day and with the main stage being outside it made for some lovely lighting and low ISOs!

Amber & Indigo - Rebelicious Magazine

Back at the beginning of February I headed back home to Birmingham to shoot some of the gorgeous pieces from the Amber & Indigo collection (all the way from Australia) with BethyKoo.

I've had to keep the photos from this shoot secret until the issue of Rebelicious Magazine that they were featured had been released, which is now! Here's a sneaky peak at the opener, but you can read the full issue here.

Big thanks to my amazing hair and make-up team Amy Murray and Heffy Wheeler.

I'll be posting more photos from the set at a later date!

Slam Dunk 2015 - Midlands

Slam Dunk is one of my favourite festivals, I'm a pop-punk/pop-rock kid at heart so I'm excited to see the line-up! This year I was lucky enough to get to shoot two dates, and headed up to Leeds for Darkus Magazine and back home to the midlands to shoot for Hit The Floor.

Here's a few highlights from Slam Dunk Midlands...
