Follow You Home/ Chasing Skylines

After shooting promotional photographs for Chasing Skylines I thought it would be good to get some shots of them live at their first show. Knowing that the guys were supporting Follow You Home made me want to shoot this show even more. I'd come across Follow You Home on Facebook a fair few months ago and being a sucker for good female fronted rock bands I couldn't miss seeing these guys live, and of course getting some snaps!

Due to the 02 Academy 3 being the smallest of the 3 venues, and having either little or no pit (tonight no pit) I had to make do getting shots from the side and squeezing in between the crowd as best I could, without blocking their view.

I also reviewed the show for altsounds.com which can be read here.

Cancer Bats

Sunday 10th March I got a last minute email saying I was down to shoot Cancer Bats at Birmingham's HMV Institute. After being prepared for an evening in, I headed to the venue to find out all photographers could shoot the ENTIRE set, with flash, from anywhere in the venue.

Needless to say I was glad I got to shoot this one!! Head over to altsounds.com to see my photos and Candice Haridimou's review from the London Koko show. Full set of images on Flickr.

Minimum Mouse Flyer

At the end of last year I shot some Autumn/Winter style images for independant vintage and jewellery company Minimum Mouse.

Minium Mouse have supported me since I first got in contact with them whilst at Uni and have continued their support ever since. They really are some of the nicest people I know and sell some beautiful items!!

Whilst returning some clothes to them and discussing more shoots owner Marianne handed me one of their new flyers featuring one of my images featuring model Zara Lodhi (Top Image). Big thanks to Becky Burden for make-up and Sian Judd for styling on this one.

All Time Low

All Time Low are always an ace band to shoot and I always feel a few years younger when I'm stood in the crowd singing along. Here's a few shots from their Birmingham show last month.

The Kerrang! Tour 2013

I'd been hoping I'd get to shoot this gig since it was announced. I wasn't that fussed about the line-up of Black Veil Brides, Fearless Vampire Killers and Tonight Alive, but could not miss the chance to see and shoot Chiodos. Saying that I knew that shooting Black Veil Brides would definitely be worth it with their styling and make-up and so was super excited when I got confirmed for this show.

After shooting this show I decided that Tonight Alive are my new favourite band ( gotta show a bit of love for female fronted pop-rock bands) and that Black Veil Brides are actually quite good live and are as expected, an ace band to shoot and I would definately take up the opportunity to shoot them again.

Fellow AltSounder Candice Haridimou did a review of the London show and used my photographs. The review and photographs can be seen here.

Here are a selection of my favourite shots from the show. The full sets can be viewed on my Flickr.

Chasing Skylines

Chasing Skylines are an alternative, rock-pop band from Birmingham. I first came across the band when shooting another local band's gig which Chasing Skylines were also playing. Since then the band's line-up has changed the odd few times and they've now relaunched with only one of their original members.

After trying to arrange a photoshoot for I can't think how long, (a slightly good thing considering how much the line-up has changed since we first tried to arrange a shoot) we finally arranged a date.

All being from Birmingham the shoot couldn't really have been anywhere else. We decided an outdoor location would be best, although very worried about how the weather would turn out we luckily managed to avoid most of the rain and get some ace shots on top of a car park and near Millennium Point

I love that whilst doing this shoot it got darker as the sun went down, which meant the lighting was different in the images we created.

Here are the final shots chosen by the band...

The guys had also asked me to get some shots of their new merchandise and so drummer Josh Murphy was chosen as model.

After not playing a live show for a good while Chasing Skylines are finally heading back out on tour in the next couple of weeks. Here's the tour flyer and another design using my photographs designed by bassist Jordan Plant (Jordan Plant Design).
